FAQs
You have questions, and we have answers! Browse our collection of Frequently Asked Questions below.
What is the address?
The Ipswich Inn is located at: 2 East St Ipswich, MA 01938
Do you have front desk staff or a bellhop?
The Ipswich Inn offers self-check in. We do have a lobby area but it is not staffed regularly. Guests should plan to carry their own luggage to their rooms on the first, second, or third floor via the stairs. If getting up the stairs with your luggage is a concern we recommend booking rooms accessible from the first/ground floor.
Do you have an elevator?
We do not have an elevator. Second and third floor rooms are only accessible via staircases. If navigating several flights of stairs is a concern we recommend booking rooms on the first floor/ground level.
Is the Inn ADA-compliant & are there accessible rooms for guests with mobility needs?
We’re committed to accommodating the needs of all our guests and strive to offer as accessible a lodging experience as possible. However, The Ipswich Inn is housed in a historic Victorian home built in 1863, which presents some accessibility limitations. While we do have an ADA-compliant ramp for entry at the rear of the main house, none of our guest rooms fully meet ADA accessibility standards, and there is no elevator access to the second or third floors.
For guests seeking first-floor accommodations, we recommend The Veranda Room in the main house and the Carriage House Suite, both located on the ground level. Please note:
- The Carriage House Suite has two small steps at the entrance and features a tub-style bathroom.
- The Veranda Room offers a curbed shower stall, but the space is narrow and may not be suitable for all mobility devices.
- Doorways in these rooms are approximately 24 inches wide, which can accommodate most standard wheelchairs.
We encourage guests with specific mobility needs to contact us directly to ensure the best possible experience. We’re here to help you choose a room that fits your comfort and access requirements.
Do you offer breakfast?
We are happy to host the best breakfast spot in town right on site! However the breakfast restaurant is under separate ownership so it is not included in the room rate. For more information on our breakfast restaurant, please visit this website.
I'm looking to book an event. How does that work?
We would be happy to host your event! Please visit our events page, fill out the form, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Is there a shuttle from the Airport to the Inn?
We would recommend a rental car as it will be helpful to get around to see the area but you can also take this shuttle to Danvers then take an uber from there to the inn (it’s a bit more cost effective than an Uber from the airport to the inn). Another option is the train. You take the silver line to the Newburyport/rockport commuter rail. This takes you directly to Ipswich. You can plan the trip using this link.
Do you offer parking?
Can I bring my dog? Do you have a pet fee?
Can I bring my other pet?
Can I pay when I get there?
Unfortunately we don’t have anyone available on site to process physical payments. We are always happy to take payment by phone.
Who do I contact if I need something during my stay? (Additional supplies, toiletries, etc)?
We have 24/7 phone support! Text or call us at (978)-312-9061 and there will always be someone here for you. We also stock a closet in each unit with incidentals should you need something.
Do you offer WiFi and what is the password?
Yes! We offer free high-speed WiFi and you will receive information about logging in via our guidebook upon check-in.
What is there to do in the area during my stay?
There is no shortage of activities and things to do on the North Shore all year long and we put together a guide with our favorite activities for your enjoyment.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can view a full list of our policies here.
What amenities do you offer in your rooms?
Smart TV, Bath Amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash), wine glasses, corkscrew, clothes steamer, hairdryer
Is there somewhere I can do laundry?
There is a laundromat just about a half mile away on Central Street called “Ipswich Laundry”
Are there any restaurants within walking distance?
We have an onsite cafe that serves breakfast daily – more info here. We are also a quick 5-minute walk from the best bakery on the North Shore, Sandpiper Bakery, which serves breakfast and lunch 6 days a week. A short additional walk will give you access to most of Ipswich’s restaurants and shops including: Brown Dog Restaurant, Heart and Soul Cafe, Choate Bridge Pub, Cellar Door Culinary, Zumi’s Espresso, and several other popular establishments
